Scott Windley Named U.S. Access Board's Technical Assistance Coordinator

Scott Windley, a long-time U.S. Access Board Accessibility Specialist, has been appointed Technical Assistance Coordinator. In this role, he will manage the Board’s technical assistance program and oversee the agency’s technical guidance to the public. The Board regularly provides technical guidance on its accessibility guidelines and standards and accessible design through its toll-free helpline (800-872-2253) and by email (ta@access-board.gov). Accessibility specialists are available to answer questions on accessibility as it relates to the built environment, outdoor sites, streets and sidewalks, transportation vehicles and vessels, information and communication technology, and medical diagnostic equipment.

Windley has served as an Accessibility Specialist at the Board for 24 years. He previously worked at The Center for Universal Design as well as the University of Idaho’s Facilities Planning and Design Department as an intern architect. For over 27 years, he has given many presentations across the country to students, advocates, and professionals on accessibility issues and guidelines. Windley received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Idaho.
